Getting Started

    I'm glad you're here.

Take some time to explore the site—check out the About page, explore Services, and get a feel for how I work. If it resonates or you're curious, please reach out. I'm happy to talk through any questions.

If it feels like a good fit, here's how the process works.

    The Process

    01

    Free 15-Minute Phone Call

Reach out to schedule a brief phone call. This is free and takes about 15 minutes. We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy, and I'll share a bit about how I work. This helps us both get a sense of whether it makes sense to take the next step.

    02

    60-Minute Consultation

If we decide to move forward, we'll schedule a longer consultation—up to 60 minutes. This gives us time to go deeper: your history, what you're hoping to work on, and what therapy with me might look like. By the end, we'll both have a clearer sense of whether this is the right fit. This consultation is charged only if we decide to work together. If either of us determines it's not the right fit, there's no charge.

    03

    Intake Paperwork

Once we've met and agreed to work together, I'll send you intake forms to complete before our first session. At this point, the therapeutic relationship has been formed through our formal intake process, mutual agreement, and signed informed consent.

    04

    First Session

Your first session can be up to 75 minutes, giving us time to establish the foundation for our work together. Ongoing sessions are usually up to 60 minutes, depending on the type of work we're doing that day.

    What to Expect in Sessions

Some people come in not sure what to talk about, and that's completely okay. I usually start with a check-in, and that often leads naturally to whatever's been on your mind since we last connected.

I think structure matters in psychotherapy, and I do work with clients to develop short-, middle-, and long-term goals. But if something pressing is going on in your life, we pivot—sometimes you just need a safe space to process things you haven't felt comfortable saying out loud to anyone else. Even during those moments, you'll often find yourself using the tools and skills we've been building together.

I use a comprehensive intake process to understand your background and what brought you here, but I don't interrogate you with a clipboard. It unfolds naturally over our first few sessions. Most people are surprised by how much ground we cover—because it feels more like a conversation than an interview.

Getting to know someone really well impacts the quality of the psychotherapeutic process. I don't believe in giving people generic feedback, and so developing greater depth over time really helps me to help you.

    Fees & Insurance

    Session Rate

    $300

    per session

Many clients with good out-of-network benefits end up paying little to nothing per session once their deductible is met. The actual cost to you depends on your specific plan.

    Sliding Scale & Accessibility

I try to be fair and human about fees. If you have a high-deductible plan or cost is a barrier, I'm happy to discuss a sliding scale rate based on need and ability. Pro bono services are available in certain cases. Priority is given to current and former clients, but please raise this during our discovery call—it's never a reason not to reach out.

    Insurance

As of January 15, 2026, I am an out-of-network provider with all insurance companies. I submit claims electronically on your behalf.

Here's how it works: You pay at the time of service by credit card. I submit the claim to your insurance. Your insurance reimburses you directly—typically within 3 weeks.

Questions to ask your insurance company:

    • • What is my out-of-network deductible?
    • • What is my coinsurance percentage for mental health?
    • • Are there session limits?
    • • How does reimbursement work?

    Cancellation Policy

I require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions are charged the full fee. I understand emergencies happen—if something comes up, reach out and we'll figure it out together.
